Howard Creek Ranch is a historic, 40 acre ocean front farm located about 5-6 hours north of San Francisco. Accommodations include cabins, suites and rooms. It is bordered by miles of beach and mountains. They offer award winning gardens, fireplaces or wood stoves, farm animals, a hot tub, and a sauna. Dog-friendly beaches nearby include Westport Union Landing State Beach in Westport, MacKerricher State Park 3-4 miles north of Fort Bragg and the 60 mile Sinkyone Wilderness Area (Lost Coast). Outdoor restaurants nearby are Jenny's Giant Burgers and Sea Pal (in Fort Bragg). Room rates are $80 and up (includes a full hearty ranch breakfast). There is a $10 plus tax per day pet charge. Certain dog rules apply: don't leave your dog alone in the room, dogs must be supervised and attended at all times, bring towels to clean up your pooch if he/she gets dirty from outside, clean up after your dog, and if your dog will be on the bed, please use a sheet to cover the quilt (sheets can be provided). The inn is located 3 miles north of Westport.
