Map

This beautiful wooded recreation area is at an elevation of 3500 feet. There is an 8 mile loop trail that circles Jenkinson Lake. It is a popular park for hiking, horseback riding, fishing and camping. Leashed dogs are allowed on the trails and in the campgrounds. The west side of the park (next to the campgrounds) offers wide fire road trails, while the east side has single track trails. Be sure to check your pup for ticks after walking here. The park is open from sunrise to sunset. It is located about 30 minutes from Placerville. To get there from Hwy 50, take the Sly Park Rd exit and turn right. Drive about 5-10 minutes and the park will be on the left.
