South of Freeland and on Whidbey Island, this unfenced off-leash area also includes a dog beach. This is one of the largest off-leash beaches in the U.S. The off-leash beach is about 2 miles long. On clear days you can see Mt Rainier, the Seattle skyline and many ships. The beach nearest the parking lot is an on-leash area and the off-leash beach starts about 500 feet from the lot. There will be steep fines for dogs that are unleashed in an inappropriate area. From WA-525 watch for a sign for Double Bluff Road and it south. The road ends at the beach.
