James A. Garfield became the 20th President of the United States in 1881. In 1876, before his presidency, Garfield purchased a farmhouse which he renovated and expanded. Today the farmhouse is a National Historic Site. Dogs are not allowed inside the buildings at this park, but you can walk your pooch on almost 8 acres and view the many historic sites from the outside. Pets must be on leash and please clean up after your dog.
