Rich in folk-lore and cultural history, this 1,900+ acre park is popular for the many hiking and riding trails; and there is a playground, picnic areas, stables, a trailside nature center, and a visitor center as well. It is suggested that a trail map is picked up at the science center, adjacent to the parking lot, prior to hiking in any unfamiliar area as there may be trail closures in effect at different times. Dogs are allowed throughout the park and on the trails. They are not allowed in any park buildings. Dogs must be under their owner's control, leashed, and cleaned up after at all times.
