This park is home to a spectacular gathering each spring of hundreds of thousands of sandhill cranes (the world's largest concentration)and serves as a link in the "Chain of Lakes". Dogs of all sizes are allowed at no additional fee. Dogs may not be left unattended, and they must be on no more than a 6 foot leash, and be cleaned up after. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no water hookups at the campground.
