Map

Steeped in colonial history with a pivotal role in the War Between the States, this is an educational as well as a recreational park. In addition to a long list of amenities and activities, this park also features various living history events, reenactments, and artifacts from the colonial era. Dogs are allowed on the grounds; they are not allowed in buildings. Dogs must be licensed, current on inoculations, leashed, and cleaned up after at all times. The camp area sits along the cliffs on the river and offers 38 sites with picnic tables, grills, fire rings, a playground, restrooms, showers, a dump station, and concessionaires. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground.
