For more than 120 years thousands of greyhounds and their owners have gathered to participate in this event held annually on Columbus Day weekend. There are a variety of activities, contests, educational and rescue programs, and plenty of doggy and human shopping available. The town's dog license requirement is covered under a special events license that covers all the dogs registered. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times; please bring clean up supplies. Dogs are allowed on Dewey Beach after October 1st; however, Rehoboth Beach has implemented a 4-day permit for the event as they usually do not allow dogs on the beach until after October 31st. Dogs must be attended to at all times. Contact information for the organization is at 295 Tremont Street, Newton MA.
