In addition to providing a variety of habitats for resident and migratory populations, this refuge is dedicated to its protection, preservation, and education through numerous activities, exhibits, and special events. Dogs are welcome, and some may even enjoy the winter activities of dog mushing or skijoring. Dogs must be under their owner's strict control, leashed, and cleaned up after at all times.
