Matanuska Glacier
Matanuska Glacier Mile 102 Glenn H Sutton, Alaska
99674 888-253-4480 Map
Unusual because of its blue color (created by ice density and summer light), this glacier is the state's largest active glacier that is reachable on foot, and it also allows for stunning views of it's 24 miles long by 4 miles wide coverage from the overlooks. The season for viewing runs from the last of April to the end of October, weather permitting. Dogs are allowed on the trails and at the glacier. They must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times.
